Forestry mulching

Single-pass clearing that turns standing brush and small trees into mulch right on the ground.

What we do

A high-flow forestry mulcher rides on a compact track machine. It grinds saplings, brush, and trees up to roughly 8 inches in diameter into a layer of mulch — no separate haul-off truck, no piles to burn, no chipper to feed.

Most properties only need one pass. We can also do a deeper cut to leave a finer mulch bed if you want to plant or seed afterward.

When it's the right call

  • You want to open up a wooded lot without scarring the ground.
  • You'd rather keep organic matter on site than haul it away.
  • The growth is brush, saplings, and small trees — not large mature timber.
  • You want a quick, clean finish you can walk the same day.

Trail clearing

Cut a clean, walkable, ride-able path through wooded property without bulldozing the woods.

What we do

Our equipment is 12 ft wide and produces a finished trail roughly 10 ft across — wide enough for an ATV, UTV, small tractor, or a comfortable walking path. We follow the route you mark or work with you to lay one out that respects drainage, sight lines, and high-value trees.

We can also widen, smooth, or re-mulch existing trails that have grown back in.

When it's the right call

  • Hunting access — quiet routes to stands and food plots.
  • Recreational use — ATV/UTV, side-by-side, hiking, snowmobile.
  • Property maintenance — getting equipment back to fence lines or outbuildings.
  • Reopening trails that have closed up over a season or two.

Brush hogging

Reclaim a field, pasture, or unmaintained lot by knocking down heavy grass, weeds, and small woody growth.

What we do

A heavy-duty rotary cutter runs across the property cutting tall growth back to a maintained height. It handles tall grass, weeds, brambles, and woody stems up to about an inch and a half. The cut material stays on site and breaks down naturally.

Best paired with annual or twice-yearly maintenance once the property is back in shape.

When it's the right call

  • A field or pasture that hasn't been mowed in a season or longer.
  • Lots being prepped for sale, listing photos, or a survey.
  • Acreage you want to walk before deciding what to do with it.
  • Routine maintenance to keep brush from establishing.

Fence line clearing

Get the brush off the fence so it can be built, replaced, or actually maintained again.

What we do

We work a clean band along the fence line — typically 6 to 10 ft wide depending on access — taking out the small trees, brush, and tangled growth that has grown into and through the wire. Existing fences are protected; new construction starts on bare ground.

We can coordinate with fencing crews so the timing lines up with their build schedule.

When it's the right call

  • You're putting up a new fence and need a clean run.
  • An old fence has been overrun and you want to repair or replace it.
  • You want a clear visual property edge or a setback for mowing.
  • A surveyor needs the line cleared before pinning it.

Invasive growth removal

Push back autumn olive, buckthorn, multiflora rose, honeysuckle, and other species that take over Michigan and Ohio properties.

What we do

We mulch the woody invasive material flush with the ground, which knocks the plant back hard and exposes the root crown. For species that aggressively re-sprout, we'll talk through a follow-up plan — a second pass the next season, spot treatment, or hand-cutting around high-value desirables.

For native or specimen trees you want preserved, we mark and work around them.

When it's the right call

  • Autumn olive, buckthorn, multiflora rose, honeysuckle, or wild grape have crowded out the property.
  • You want to restore views, edges, or sight lines without taking down the woods.
  • Conservation or stewardship goals — improving habitat or native regeneration.
  • Hunting properties losing visibility or browse to invasive cover.
